Cityscapes of Turku, Finland | NEW photobook

05.JPG

I make observations about my historic home town during my daily commute by bicycle along the river Aura. In this book I turn these observations into photographs. I’ve seen the same sights many times in different light, as I log well over thousand kilometres along the river per year.

But - as the old saying goes, you can never step into the same river twice, the same goes for the city. You never see the same scene the same way. As the light is different, and even more importantly, my eye and creative soul is different. So, this book is about the city as much it is about what I saw and how I saw it in that specific moment. It is also about the light in this northern location and how it shapes the views by its own way. I hope you get a glimpse of Turku via my photographs.

However, I also welcome you to visit the city along the river when you have the opportunity and see the sights on your own with your own eyes.
