Missing Snow & Sun
There is no snow on the ground and it is cloudy most days at this time of the year. However, there are plenty of Christmas decorations and lights around our historic neighborhood. So I took a photo walk. My mission was to photograph Christmas as a subject. I peaked inside windows along the Bishop street. I saw a flower leaning against the glass pane. I then imagined that the Christmas light inside is the sun and looked for a perfect angle and composition for the image. I only took one picture and then carried on walking towards the Old Town Square past the Turku Cathedral.
Reflective EXPRESSIONS
After walking for a while I realized. This is my Christmas photo. It reflects back on the year. I identify with the flower trying to make my mark and express myself on the canvas. The yellow sketches are my expressions. The transparent window pane projects my inner landscape to the outside world for the walkers passing by. Now if I could only figure out what am I expressing. It must be a feeling, that much is clear. A struggle to create, perhaps. The rest, it's up to your own interpretation.
